While Kaizer Chiefs are currently banned from making transfers until after January 2021, both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have been linked with some hot property to bolster their squad for the new season.
Most recently, Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo has made it on the radar of both Pirates and Sundowns. The Bafana Bafana captain has for quite some time been heavily linked with a move to the Bucs and the Soweto side is believed to still be keen on the Bidvest Wits centre-back.
Sundowns have also since thrown their name in the hat for Tyson, although Siya sources have revealed that their pursuit remains subtle.
Hlatshwayo put pen to paper on an extended ‘lucrative’ contract with Wits back in August 2019, with the Students, at the time, looking to fend off interest from the Bucs.
Tyson is not the only centre-back linked with moves to the big three. As recently reported by the Siya crew, Maritzburg United’s Rushine de Reuck, who is hot property in the PSL, has also made it on the radar of Pirates and Sundowns.
Both sides are eager to bolster their defensive department, and while Tyson would be a number one target for Pirates, the Brazilians have been eyeing several players in the past months such as Sifiso Hlanti, Edmilson Dove and Ramahlwe Mphahlele.
However, while several players have also made it on the radar of Chiefs, the Soweto side will need to wait until they are successful in overturning their current transfer ban, before pursuing their interests.
