Xulu and Chiefs had been destined to part ways for a while now after the club confirmed in June that he had been released, however, what they didn't say is that - at that point - they had not agreed to the terms of the termination.
Now, after meetings between the involved parties, it has been confirmed that the 25-year-old is now a free agent and were able to open up talks with any club interested in bringing him on board.
The Siya crew recently reported that the likes of Cape Town City, Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United in South Africa had all shown an interest, while teams in Israel, Turkey, Russia and the Indian Super League were also keen.
Xulu signed a three-year deal at Maritzburg, and it has since been confirmed by the club.
