The owners of Sivutsa Stars are looking for potential buyers for the club. The Mpumalanga outfit has struggled in the NFD since their promotion from the SAFA Second Division in 2011.
Stars boss Derick Khoza had high hopes for the club when they won promotion to the NFD alongside Chippa United two years ago. The club was expected to emulate Chippa and win promotion to the PSL.
However, they found the going tough in the second tier of South African football. Numerous changes to the technical team didn’t help them to achieve their objectives.
The Siya crew received information that Khoza is looking at around R8 million for the club. Stars finished the 2012/13 season 13th on the NFD log with just seven wins from 30 games.
But the club has helped a few youngsters improve their game during its existence. Orlando Pirates and SA U20 defender Mbongeni Gumede spent his debut season in professional football with the club.
