Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siphiwe Tshabalala says his team are working on converting their chances ahead of their league encounter with Mpumalanga Black Aces tonight.
Chiefs looked to be in control of their TKO quarter-final against Aces when they were 2-0 up, but failed to convert a number of chances and allowed Aces back into the tie by conceding a goal.
The Amakhosi were able to hold on and secure the result, however Tshabalala has indicated that his players need to be more ruthless and convert their chances in order to kill off the game.
“We showed character and I think that the team played well. From the first whistle we showed intent and it helped to stutter the opponents. We came out of the blocks running and all fell into place during the game,” the Chiefs captain said on his official website.
“The goal they scored was because for a few minutes in the second half we had a lot of chances and did not make use of them. When you waste chances in football, you get punished.
“This is something that the team will work on in order to improve and take it to other competitions as well. But we take the results and move forward,” concluded Shabba.
Do you think Aces will be able to sneak a result against Chiefs this evening or will the Amakhosi be too strong for them at home?
