Kaizer Chiefs captain, Siphiwe Tshabalala, says that the club are chasing the Q4 title and want to get back to winning ways against Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The Amakhosi find themselves on a dire run of form at present having failed to win any of their last five games in all competitions, and haven’t scored an Absa Premiership goal since back in February.
Now, after a lengthy spell without playing, ‘Shabba’ thinks that the break will have given them time to get back to winning ways.
He told the club’s official website, “The break was just what the doctor ordered. The break gave us an opportunity to push hard at training and to bond as a team. We are recharged and ready. We are looking forward to the game. We want to get back to winning ways.
“We always respect our opponents, they play good football and they have excellent ball players in their ranks. Collins Mbesuma is one of their players to watch while we don’t lose track on the rest of their team.”
He also added that the club wants to end the season on a high, saying, “We want to win the Q4-innovation starting with a win against Aces tonight. We will not dwell much on the league standings at this stage, we are focusing on winning games.”
Meanwhile, as reported by the Siya crew yesterday, Reneilwe Letsholonyane will miss tonight’s game due to injury.
Defeat for Chiefs tonight would see them drop to fifth place on the table, while a win would see them close the gap on Platinum Stars in third.
