Holiday Hold-Up As Shabba Nears Chiefs Exit
Siphiwe Tshabalala’s pending move from Kaizer Chiefs to Erzurumspor has been held up by the fact that Eid is currently taking place in Turkey.
‘Shabba’, who turns 34 next month, looks to be on the verge of making a switch to Europe before the transfer window closes, with the Siya crew having previously reported that he was due to fly out at some point in the near future.
Now, with Eid being celebrated in Turkey until tomorrow, it is thought that the Amakhosi midfielder’s move will only be finalised once he has arrived at the club to sign what is being reported as a two-year deal with the recently promoted Super Lig outfit.
Meanwhile, the club’s head coach, Mehmet Altıparmak, has confirmed in the Turkish media that a deal has been agreed in principle, suggesting that a move could now be imminent.
According to dirilispostasi.com, Altiparmak said "With Siphiwe Tshabalala we have a principle agreement. We will complete this transfer within a few days.”
It remains to be seen whether the former Bafana Bafana international will feature for the Glamour Boys in the MTN8 this weekend as speculation surrounding his future continues.
