The 21-year-old is among the frontrunners for this season’s Absa Premiership Young Player of the Year award, with his fine form for the Team of Choice attracting plaudits from all over the country.

It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that Ndlovu put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal recently, committing his future to the club until at least 2022, despite the fact that he still had one year left on his previous deal, with an added one-year option.

His form this season, and subsequent Bafana Bafana call-up, will have no doubt attracted attention from some of the PSL’s big boys like Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but Maritzburg – with this lengthy deal – have made sure that they have both rewarded the player for his efforts and protected their investment in the youngster.

Maritzburg’s Football and Operations Manager, Quintin Jettoo, told the crew in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, “Yes, he signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with us back in January.”

Ndlovu has four goals and three assists to his name and will be focused on helping Maritzburg qualify for a CAF tournament for the first time in the club’s history.
