Mthembu: Chiefs See Something In Me!

Kaizer Chiefs striker, Siphelele Mthembu, is confident that Chiefs believe in the striker and have plans for him.

Mthembu began his career at Chiefs before moving to Orlando Pirates, where he failed to live up to expectations and was not given much playing time.

The 28-year-old then had short spells as Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows before signing with Platinum Stars, where he went on to score 10 goals in 43 games.

The Amakhosi snapped up the player ahead of the 2014/15 season, however, he failed to establish himself in his debut season - only managing one start and 15 substitute appearances.

This season Mthembu has found game time easier to come by under new coach, Steve Komphela, staring six out of the 10 games so far, and he is confident the Amakhosi have plans for him.

“Everything happens for a reason. I have been here before and I have played for other teams as well. Everything I have achieved at the different teams is because God has planned it to happen,” Mthembu told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s not for me to say I deserve it or not, but if the team gives me the chance to play for them, then that means there is something they see in me. For me it’s just to do the job that I have been given and follow the coach’s instructions,” he added.
