Sibusiso Vilakazi says that he had to use what God gave him as he composed himself in the Mamelodi Sundowns box to score the winner last night.
The 25-year-old midfield man showed superb composure in front of goal yesterday evening to end Sundowns’ 15-game unbeaten run, consequently extending Wits’ run to eight games now.
When asked whether his composure was something that he worked on in training, ‘Vila’ said that it’s more about using the talents that God gave him.
Speaking to the Siya crew after the game, Vilakazi said, “When you’re in the box you have to see the situation. I had to give myself space and saw the defender go in early so I went round him and then took my opportunity.
“It’s one of those goals where you have to use what is given to you, the God-given talent, and that’s what I managed to do.”
Wits now find themselves in second place on the PSL table and just seven points behind leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, with nine games left to play.
