One of Mamelodi Sundowns’ players is on the road to recovery, although it will be quite some time before he will return to action.
Sibusiso Vilakazi is set to miss the rest of the 2018/19 season after the player underwent an operation on his Achilles tendon.
However, in Sundowns’ recent post, the midfielder seems to be on the road to recovery, doing some light workouts, although still in a moon boot.
Vilakazi has established himself as an integral part of the Sundowns’ setup under Head Coach Pitso Mosimane, with the player’s influence on the field no doubt a loss for the Brazilians.
However, Sundowns have bolstered their attacking department well enough with the likes of Toni Silva and Jose Ali Meza, to add the cover for situations like these.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Brazilians, although the club has an added two-year option set in place.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns will in no doubt look to extend the player’s stay at the club, despite Vilakazi’s long injury lay-off.
