Absence Explained As Teen Sensation Returns To Wits
Teenage Bidvest Wits attacker, Shungu Dutiro, is back training at the club after a spell away due to injury and the fact that he was writing his matric examinations.
The 18-year-old burst onto the scene last year when the Clever Boys handed him a professional contract following his performances in the Gauteng Future Champs tournament.
Dutiro scored six goals in the competition as he went on to win the Golden Boot, and shortly afterwards he was handed a deal at Wits and promoted to the first team.
However, after playing for the club’s MDC side, Dutiro went off the radar for a while, until now.
The Siya crew have been reliably informed that the forward had to undergo treatment and recuperation due to a growth injury, and also had to take time to sit his matric while he recovered.
Now back to full fitness, Dutiro has returned to training with the Clever Boys as he goes in search of the PSL debut.
