News reaching the Siya crew is that no less than five coaches have been linked to the SuperSport United job, following Gavin Hunt’s exit from the Tshwane-based outfit.
Matsatsantsa confirmed earlier today (Wednesday) that Hunt will no longer be with club, with Wits subsequently announcing that Hunt will be in charge of their first team from the start of the new season.
As reported by Soccer-Laduma, Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson has been strongly linked with the SuperSport bench over the past few weeks and he is believed to be the odds-on favourite to take over at the helm.
However, since today’s announcement, there have been several names thrown into the mix, which, according to a source close to the club, include the likes of Steve Komphela of Free State Stars, Maritzburg United’s Ernst Middendorp, Mark Harrison of Chippa United and Owen da Gama.
According to the source it is still unclear who will emerge as Hunt’s replacement, although Johnson is believed to be at the top of the short-list.
