Former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dillon Sheppard, has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with PSL side Maritzburg United.
The 33-year-old has had a tough few months with Golden Arrows, struggling to break into their first team under both Muhsin Ertugral and new coach, Manqoba Mngqithi.
Now, however, the ex-Ajax Cape Town man has confirmed to the Siya crew that he has signed for The Team of Choice after his former club agreed to terminate his current deal by mutual consent.
Sheppard told the crew, “I’ve just signed a one-year deal with Maritzburg United and I’m really very happy. Arrows agreed to give me my clearance and I’m now a Maritzburg player.”
Maritzburg’s coach, Ernst Middendorp, is the man that took Sheppard to Arrows back in 2011 and it is thought that the German jumped at the chance to work with the former Dynamo Moscow and Mamelodi Sundowns man.
