Former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dillon Sheppard, says fathers everywhere should cherish the time they have with their children.
As it’s Father’s Day, Soccer Laduma tracked down the 35-year-old, a well-known family man, to see what his message to South African fathers was.
Here’s what ‘Sheppy’ had to say, “We should all cherish the time that we have with our kids. As a player we spend a lot of time travelling so have to make the most of whatever time we do get with our kids. It’s important for us to spend time with them, and our families, and bond with them.
“When everything is done it’s your family and kids that are still there and that keep you going.”
Sheppard is still on the lookout for a new club as he attempts to get himself back into the PSL for the 2014/15 campaign.
Soccer Laduma would also like to send our best wishes to all of the fathers in South Africa. Enjoy your day and cherish every moment.
