Shabba: We Did Our Best

Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe "Shabba" Tshabalala was the only player who converted his penalty as the team bowed out of the Afcon 2013 at the hands of Mali at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The Kaizer Chiefs talisman was brought in as a second half substitute and he took the first penalty which he converted.

After the game he told the Siya crew that though it was disappointing that they were out of the tournament there were some positives they got from the game.

He said as a team they did their best but they were unfortunate to go out on penalties.

"As for my penalty I had to take responsibility and take the first penalty. We were all confident that we can do it.  It is so disappointing that we didn't. As a team we are all disappointed. We worked hard to reach here and we wanted to go as far as the finals. It is really sad but we did our best and everyone saw that," Shabba concluded.
