Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala believes that a better line-up could have brought in different results for the national team in their game against Nigeria.
Commenting on his official website, Tshabalala said the Bafana players take the blames as a collective for Bafana’s loss to the Super Eagles.
“It is clear that we let the nation down and disappointed a lot, if not all of our supporters. Though personally I think we should also recognise the players for their effort,” Tshabalala told his official website.
“On the day I think we could have selected a better line-up and maybe the results would have been different.
“With that being said, the future is bright – we should look on the positive side. I really do believe that there will always be room for improvement. I am not too sure about changing the team though. If we aim to get better we should step forward instead of going back to square one all the time,” added Tshabalala.
Tshabalala said Bafana have to look forward as a team to the upcoming massive game against Brazil.
“If we take that game as a step forward we can regain our confidence and take it from there,” concluded Tshabalala.
