Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siphiwe Tshabalala, resumed full training yesterday and should be available for this weekend’s Soweto derby.
The 29-year-old underwent an MRI scan earlier this week to assess the extent of the ankle injury that he picked up against Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinal, after he was substituted during the game.
However, while he was believed to be doubtful for the encounter with Orlando Pirates, it seems that he will be available for Stuart Baxter to select, having come through yesterday’s training session unscathed.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen as to whether Knowledge Musona, who injured his shoulder against Ea Lla Koto, will be fit for the derby or not, with Chiefs still waiting for the results from his scan.
Baxter will be pleased to have Tshabalala available for selection going into the third competitive Soweto derby of the season, although only time will tell if he is thrown straight back into the starting XI or start on the bench.
