Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siphiwe Tshabalala, sent out a thank you message on Instagram ahead of his 200th Amakhosi appearance this past weekend.
‘Shabba’ played a vital role in Chiefs’ 2-0 win over his former team this weekend, grabbing a goal and an assist as the Glamour Boys temporarily went top of the PSL standings.
It will no doubt have been a great honour for the 29-year-old to hit that milestone against Ea Lla Koto, the team he turned out for three years before moving to Naturena in 2007.
The midfielder took to Instagram on the day of the game, saying thanks to all of those involved in his career.
He said, “Today I will be playing my 200th game for Kaizer Chiefs against the team that I made my professional debut (Free State Stars). I thank you for the blessings, good career, good health and my love for helping others. To my family, friends, fans, colleagues and coaches (past and present), thanks for the love and support. May God bless you in abundance. In God I believe and trust. Amen.”
‘Shabba’ was left out of the squad for the previous game, a 4-1 win over Polokwane City, but was re-instated against Stars, putting in a fine performance to help them climb up the Absa Premiership table.
Chiefs’ next game will see them take on Mamelodi Sundowns on December 10, when the midfielder is likely to take one step closer to his triple century.
