Even though Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is unlikely to feature in the Telkom Knockout this weekend, his injury isn’t a serious one.
The Siya crew reported yesterday that ‘Shabba’ picked up a knock in training and is likely to miss the upcoming TKO game against Polokwane City, but it has since been revealed that he sustained the knock in the MTN8 semi-final against Orlando Pirates.
While Gordon Igesund went on to leave Tshabalala out of his Bafana squad to face Morocco, he will not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines and the crew have been informed that his knock is merely a minor muscle strain that shouldn’t be too troublesome for him.
In the absence of his midfield regular, Baxter could opt to use George Lebese in his place when they tackle City this weekend and attempt to secure a place in the Last 16 of the tournament.
The two teams will meet at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 20h15 on Saturday night.
