Shabba: I Let The Team Down
Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala believes he is to blame for conceding the late equaliser against Black Aces on Tuesday.
The Amakhosi led their league clash with Amazayoni 2-1 and looked set for a much-needed victory, but they let in a stoppage-time leveller, for which man-of-the-match Shabba took some blame.
He said: "It was a great game of football. We showed hunger. We were very determined from the first minute. We created a lot of chances.
"I let the team down in the last minute, then we got caught open in the midfield and they got the equaliser, but overall I think we did well."
He went on to defend coach Steve Komphela, stating that the players should be held responsible.
Shabba added: "There is chemistry in the team and there is unity in the team. With the game we played, we can not blame the coach. We as the players take responsibility, win, lose, or draw we all take the stick, not the coach. We have to protect the coach by bringing positive results."
