Recently released Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Nhlanhla Shabalala, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with AmaZulu.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Ajax PRO Thabiso Shooz Mekuto, said he cannot speak or comment on behalf of the team as the player is no longer in the books of the Urban Warriors.
“I cannot confirm or talk about a player who is no longer at Ajax Cape Town, he is a free agent and he’s free to go anywhere. That would be him commenting on the matter,” said Mekuto.
The player, affectionately known as Shabba, spent a decade at the Ikamva and has been an influential member of the squad over the years. Siya Crew contacted Amazulu team manager, Japhet Zwane, but his mobile phone rang unanswered.
However, Siya crew contacted Usuthu Media and Communications manager, Philani Mabaso, who confirmed that the player has signed with the Durban-based outfit.
"Nhlanhla Shabala has joined Amazulu football club for the next three-and-a half years, he'll be available to play in January (window period)," said Mabaso.
The player passed his medical this morning.
