Thulani Serero is expected to get a run-out in tonight’s international friendly at the Cape Town Stadium, as Bafana Bafana welcome Norway to the South Africa.
Although the Ajax Amsterdam player has not been included in coach Gordon Igesund’s starting line-up, the former Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder is expected to get some game time in front of his old fans, on his home turf.
Serero is in the process of gaining his full match fitness, following his time on the sidelines due to injury, as Igesund prepares his squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
The former PSL Player of the Season sustained a groin injury last year in September, while in action for Ajax Amsterdam, which put his involvement of the Afcon in doubt.
In a race against time, Serero made it back in time for the African showpiece and is expected to be match fit by the time the tournament starts on January 19.
