Despite featuring for Ajax Amsterdam’s reserves this week, it seems that Thulani Serero’s injury has kept him out of their Uefa Champions League game against AC Milan.
The Siya crew reported yesterday that the South African midfielder could be fit for the game in Amsterdam due to his shoulder injury being just a bruising, however it appears that his club are not prepared to risk him.
Having recently broken back into Frank de Boer’s side, the news will come as a blow to him as he attempts to establish himself as an important member of the first team.
Serero, 23, started for Jong Ajax as they lost 3-2 to FC Volendam in the Jupiler League yesterday and was then left out of their 18-man squad for their Group H clash with the Rossoneri tonight.
Ajax welcome Milan to the Amsterdam ArenA at 20h15 tonight as they look to follow up their 6-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie last week.
