In a bid to retain their PSL status, Chippa United are looking to reinforce their squad during the current January transfer window.
The Cape-based side are now looking to bring former striker, Joshua Sauls, back to the club. Sauls left the team for Platinum Stars in July of 2012, after playing a key part in the side’s promotion to the PSL.
However, the former FC AK player has failed to establish himself at the Phokeng-based side since joining the team, having made no official appearances under coach Cavin Johnson.
A well-placed source within the Chilli Boys has confirmed with the Siya crew that the player’s return to the Mother City is been negotiated between the two clubs.
“Joshua Sauls is coming back. He went to Platinum Stars but we have now agreed to have him back. I don’t think the Platinum Stars coach is going to use him,” said the source.
Sauls finished last season with 12 goals, although he joined Chippa halfway through their NFD campaign. Chippa have big plans for the 25-year-old in their quest to maintain their status in the PSL, while it has become clear that he is not in Johnson’s plans.
