Santos have snapped up three players from Ajax Cape Town, as the exodus of playing personnel continues at the Ikamva-based outfit.
According to the official website of The People’s Team, Stefan Van Neel, Michael Kwong and Matthew Rowell have all joined the NFD side.
“Santos Football Club are delighted to be able to announce the addition of three new players to the first team squad. Joining the People's Team are Michael Kwong, Matthew Rowell and Stefan Van Neel, all from Ajax Cape Town.
"The talented young trio, who have all already trained with the club as well as participating in friendly matches, have impressed with tactical ability as well as their technical knowledge, having come through the ranks of Ajax from a very early age.
"Kwong (20), who plays as a winger, is a former Bidvest Wits youth who has been with the Urban Warriors since the age of seven. He made five first team appearances this season. Rowell (20) is a no nonsense right-back who joined Ajax from Botasig at the age of ten, while goalkeeper Van Neel (21) started his career with Vasco before signing for Ajax in 2001.
"They were both members of the first team squad this season but are yet to break into the team,” thepeoplesteam.co.za revealed.
Santos Chairman Goolam Allie told the peoplesteam.co.za, “We are excited to have these young boys on board and we look forward to seeing what they can bring to the team. They will add depth to an already talented young side."
Lebogang Manyama and Nhlanhla Shabalala are some of the players that have left The Urban Warriors in the January transfer window.
