Santos plan to use their home ground advantage effectively when they host Mpumalanga Black Aces in tonight’s PSL Relegation/Promotion Play-off fixture.
The People’s Team could overthrow Amazayoni at the top of the play-off table if they win their second game of the play-offs this evening.
Santos drew their first game against Chippa United at the Philippi Stadium three weeks ago, while Aces got a morale booster with a 1-0 win in their opening game against the Chilli Boys.
Santos’ assistant coach David Notoane told the Siya crew that his team is ready for the battle against the high-flying Aces.
“The two-week break has been a psychological barrier for the boys. But the boys are more than ready. The energy levels are very good. We’ve done a good balance between loading and recovering. We look forward to the game.
“Looking at our campaign this past season, we never lost a game at home since coach (Ian) Palmer and I took over. We’re looking to take that advantage to this game.
“We know what their strong points are but they are coming to our backyard for the first time. We are looking for three points in this game.
“We know how crucial it is for us to get three points. We need to take the game to them. We need to be cautious against giving away points,” said Notoane.
The game between the two sides will be played at the Cape Town Stadium and is scheduled for 19:30.
