Bafana Bafana play Cape Verde in the 2013 African Cup of Nations opener at the National Stadium on Saturday, and the pressure will be on the host nation to do well, score goals and win.
Defender Siyabonga Sangweni said that the team has a full understanding of what will be expected, with some of the squad players having represented South Africa at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Orlando Pirates man said that with the home support, they will have the motivation to go on and win.
“We haven't scored much in the friendly games but we know the situation is different on Saturday. We have to score and win. It really doesn't matter who scores, but the win is what is important. We are all national team players and we want our country to be happy, so we will do what is the best for the country and that is to win.
“Just as supporters and the whole country want a win, we also want a win and that's why we will win on Saturday,” the Buccaneer explained.
