News filtering through to the Siya crew’s desk is that Ajax Cape Town’s new signings, Carl Lark and Thamsanqa Sangweni could play for the Urban Warriors tomorrow.
The Ikamva-based outfit will face Amazulu tomorrow night at Moses Mabhida in their second game in 2014, and the crew contacted the club’s PRO, Thabiso 'Shooz' Mekuto to hear about their preparations.
Mekuto told the crew that preparations have gone well and the team is ready to do battle against Usuthu away from home.
“The coach will select his final line-up and wrap up his preparations ahead of this encounter. There are some injuries and the team will be changed from the one that played Pirates last week. We also have two players that are available for selection, Lark and Sangweni, the coach could use them tomorrow. On the other hand, Sithole will not play until we sort out his work permit.
Asked if former Orlando Pirates coach, Roger De Sa, might be on his way to Ikamva, Shooz said...
“With Roger De Sa, we can’t spread rumours or entertain them but the club will follow a certain procedure to employ a coach. We just announced a new coach (Ian Taylor) so we can’t announce another one now, there’s a procedure to be followed. Like any other coach, he has applied for the coaching job. At the moment there’s no such thing as Roger joining us, I don’t want to be drawn into this. If we want to announce a coach, we will do so but I won’t comment on the media speculation,” said Mekuto.
