Former AmaZulu goalkeeper Mandla Sangweni has been unlucky in his search for a new club, and as it stands, remains clubless.
Sangweni has been in search for a new club, having parted ways with AmaZulu at the end of last season. He had been linked with a number of clubs in the past few weeks, including Mpumalanga Black Aces, Witbank Spurs and Sivutsa Stars.
However, Aces have since signed Energy Murambadoro to strengthen the team’s goalkeeping department.
According to a source close to Sangweni, the player didn’t feel comfortable with the option of joining any of the two NFD clubs that showed an interest in him.
“Mandla Sangweni was at Witbank Spurs and Sivutsa Stars respectively. But he did not like the conditions at any of the clubs,” said the source.
Sangweni will be hoping for better luck in his search, for a chance to emulate his famous brothers Siyabonga and Thamsanqa of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, respectively.
