Sandile Zuke’s Failed Ajax Cape Town Move Explained
The deal to add Sandile Zuke in an expected swap deal with Ajax Cape Town fell through yesterday after Golden Arrows snapped up the player’s signature.
It was reported last weekend that Ajax and Chippa United were close to agreeing to a swap deal with Prince Nxumalo and Bantu Mzwakali expected to head to the Port Elizabeth outfit and Zuke and Samuel Julies to the Mother City.
However, the two clubs confirmed a swap deal yesterday that involved only Mzwakali and Julies heading in opposite directions.
Ajax’s head coach, Muhsin Ertugral since confirmed to the Siya crew that the expected deal to bring Zuke to the club was close to being concluded yesterday after the player was offered a contract by the Urban Warriors who were impressed with what they saw from the player during training.
However, according to Ertugral, Arrows approached the player and Chippa with a more attractive deal following his training stint with Ajax and the player subsequently opted for a move to the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit instead, which saw the initial proposed swap deal between Ajax and Chippa fall through.
Nxumalo, who was also expected to be included in the initial proposed swap deal, is still currently on the books of the Urban Warriors and it remains to be seen where his next football destination will be after being linked with both Chippa and AmaZulu FC.
