Nigeria have been crowned as African Champions following their triumph at the 2013 African Cup of Nations. The Super Eagles defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 at the National Stadium in Soweto on Sunday, February 10.
South Africa hosted a memorable tournament over the past three weeks, where Africa’s best battled it out for the title of African Champions. The world’s footballing eyes have been focused on the African continent, where fans and players alike shared moments of jubilation, pride, despair and sorrow.
The 16 competing nations brought the tournament to life with their African flair, grit and determination. Burkina Faso reached the final for the first time in the country’s history, while the host nation, Bafana Bafana, expressed their Mzansi magic.
