Sammy Seabi Motivated With Pirates Result
Polokwane City midfielder Sammy Seabi explained he was tasked to switch into defensive mode in their 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates on Saturday.
Rise and Shine squandered a 1-0 halftime lead to share the spoils, with Lyle Foster coming off the bench to score the equaliser for the Sea Robbers.
“It wasn’t an easy game to play, but we came with a plan. The coach told us we must stay compact so that we can catch them on the counter attack that’s why I was more defensive today,” Seabi told SuperSport after the match.
Having the unenviable task to guard Mpho Makola, the occasion didn’t overawed the player at all who pushed himself to the limit.
“It wasn’t easy to play against players like Makola, but I just told myself I can manage if I push myself to the limits, I will manage,” he explained.
The result augurs well for their upcoming matches, with a trip to the nation’s capital to face a struggling SuperSport United next on the horizon.
“(The result) it feels good as a team, it will motivate us for the next game because the previous games wasn’t easy. So we will take it one game at a time,” he said.
