The South African Masters and Legends Football Association (SAMLFA) will be in KwaZulu-Natal this weekend, as part of their series of road shows scheduled to take place around the country.
SAMLFA’s communications manager Pepe Dire told the Siya crew that the meeting in KZN is aimed at former professional players and current coaches in and around the province.
“The next in a series of our road shows is on May 25. It takes place in Durban. The aim of the meeting in KZN is to let people know how far we have gone with these road shows, and to update them on our programme.
“We don’t want to leave them behind in our programme. The meeting is aimed at former professional players and coaches. I want to emphasise that these road shows are made possible with the contribution of our sponsors, Aspen Pharmacare.
“We pledged to support the minister of sport Filkile Mbalula in a programme called Volunteer Corps. The programme deals with schools and community at youth level. The reason we request coaches to attend these meetings is that Greg Mashilo, who is the president of South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) has a presentation to make on their behalf,” said Dire.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 11:00 on Saturday at a venue still to be confirmed. For more information, Dire can be contacted on 076 557 9335.
