MP Black Aces coach Jacob Sakala says his game plan was the reason his side beat Chippa United 1-0 in a National First Division play-off match at the Themba Senamela Stadium on Saturday, as he opted to attack instead of defend.
An 88th minute goal from Dennis Masina saw Aces go to the top of the mini-league with three points while Santos are second with one point and Chippa at the bottom with one point after two games.
Sakala thanked God for the win and praised his team’s style of play for the win.
“First of all I would like to thank the Almighty God, he has really been working on the side of us and I am putting everything in the hands of Jesus,” said Sakala.
“When we came I knew we were playing against a very experienced team, but I said to the players ‘let’s not defend we are playing at home and let’s go all out. The only way we can defend is to attack.’ We pushed the ball forward and when we lost the ball we regrouped quickly and we didn’t allow them to play.”
