Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Jacob Sakala lamented his team’s finishing as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Thanda Royal Zulu on Sunday.
The result saw Amazayoni finish the National First Division season in the play-off places as they seek promotion to the Absa Premiership.
“Our finishing was very poor. We did a good job, but lost concentration at the back line and conceded through a silly mistake. We would have won the league otherwise. We just relaxed at the back and we were almost there,” said Sakala.
“We’ll still try in the play-offs, but it’s not yet over.”
The Aces coach said that while his team have been overworked throughout the season, they will continue to give their best in the play-offs.
“It makes the season a bit longer. Instead of the players going to rest it means we still go on playing and training,” he added.
“We have been playing Saturday’s and Wednesdays and that has been too difficult. Nevertheless, we must not look down, we must look forward and I think the boys will do it. There’s always a second chance.”
