The South African Football Players Union have weighed in on the weekend’s incident involving Black Leopards boss David Thidiela and a match referee.
SAFPU has called for action taken to be taken against the Leopards boss.
After the match between Black Leopards and Bloemfontein Celtic that was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday, Thidiela was not happy with some of the decisions taken by referee Victor Hlungwani, which led to the club boss allegedly uttering some harsh words to the official.
Leopards lost 1-0 to Celtic and SAFPU have joined in and commenting on the events that transpired.
“SAFPU is disgusted by the way Mr David Thidiela attacked referee Mr Victor Hlungwani, calling him Shangaan & warn him to never set his foot at his team's games again or he can do that at his own risk. This calls for immediate action from SAFA & PSL,” stated SAFPU on their official Twitter account.
