The Siya crew can reveal that SAFA’s investigation on the two players who allegedly 'faked' injuries and did not attend their medical examinations by the FA’s doctors ahead of Bafana Bafana’s recent tour of Australasia, is nearing its conclusion.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Communications Head at SAFA, Dominic Chimhavi, confirmed that the FA is on top of the matter, and are close to a verdict.
“We are getting to the bottom of the matter to find out exactly the facts before we take action. If we find any transgression on the side of the players in question, we will take decisive action,” said Chimhavi.
Meanwhile as reported earlier in the week, SAFA have begun the process of appointing a new coach after it was decided that Gordon Igesund will not stay on as Bafana coach.
“The process of appointing the new coach has already began and once we have covered all areas, we will make an announcement,” added the FA’s Head of Communications.
Soccer Laduma has previously reported that the likes of Iran coach, Carlos Queiroz , Nigerian coach, Stephen Keshi and Dutch mentor, Ruud Krol, are rumoured to be in contention for the hotseat.
