SAFA And La Liga Partnership Paves Way For Future Stars
SAFA and La Liga partnership aims at creating SA La Liga Stars
The partnership between the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the Spanish Primera Division also known as La Liga continues to grow and engage more communities within South Africa.
Speaking exclusively with Soccer Laduma La Liga Director of Football in South Africa Anthony Barradas said there were even bigger plans to grow the football initiatives in South Africa.
"When we first arrived in South Africa in 2015 to open our first offices in Africa we had no idea of the monumental strides we would make," said Barradas.
"Our community football initiatives have continued to grow steadfastly in communities all around South Africa. From Johannesburg to KwaZulu Natal and other parts we continue making an impact."
"However, next we want to start bringing coaches to come and identify and work with some of the players who compete in these community tournaments. The KwaMahlobo tournament has grown so much over the years. Having some of the coaches from Spain will encourage the boys even more."
"We want to take these boys back to Spain and give them the opportunity to get their football careers off the ground. As you know there aren't many South African players in Spain but I hope through this we can see more young players from this country playing in La Liga," concluded Barradas.
The finals of the KwaMahlobo Football Tournament will be played on Saturday 6 January 2018.
