The trio has signed deals with a club in Portugal called Associação Naval 1893, as reported in edition 1066 of Soccer Laduma.

The players were developed at Gauteng’s Zwane Ten Fitness Academy, under the watchful eye of Tiro Zwane, who is the brother of Kaizer Chiefs’ Arthur Zwane, who is an Amakhosi legend and currently involved in the club’s development system.

Prior to joining Zwane’s academy, Mlonzi was with Meadowlands Soccer Academy under Dira ‘Chippa’ Laka.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Tiro Zwane confirmed that the three players have signed deals with the Portuguese club.

“All three players have signed deals in Portugal. They have all signed for one team. Zinto was the first one to leave (for trials) – a few weeks ago – and has since been signed by the club. Kamogelo and Tshepo have just joined him overseas,” said Zwane.

“These are young players that could be the future of South African football. They are players that were born in 1999. They like them in Portugal. My academy is known in Portugal, as they contact me for players. I come from a home of football people. Arthur Zwane, Eugene Zwane and Irvin Zwane are all my siblings,” he boasted.

“But I’m the one going around the country and scouting players for my academy. Whenever I see a talented player, I take him under my wing and nurture him so that when I feel that he is ready, I can take him overseas. I work very closely with Isaac (Moalosi, local football agent),” said Zwane.

Another youngster, Mzamo Mtshali, missed out on the opportunity to join the Portuguese club, and Zwane explains why: “Mzamo couldn’t go (to Portugal) because he has a scheduled school trip to Italy.”
