English central midfielder, Ryan Burge, says that he will be flying into South Africa this month to have talks with PSL side, Wits, about a move to Mzansi.
The 25-year-old, who was playing in English League Two for Newport County last season, became a free agent last month, and is now on the lookout for a new team.
Burge was being tracked by both Manchester City and Manchester United as a youngster, but started his career at Birmingham City after growing up at the West Bromwich Albion Academy. However, he has been somewhat of a journeyman in recent years, playing in both Japan and Spain.
Now, with him available on a free transfer, it looks as if The Clever Boys are eager to take a look at him and see what he can offer.
Burge tweeted recently saying, “Looking forward to going & meeting South African premier league club @BidvestWits on the 24th June to maybe sign a contract. #bigclub.”
It remains to be seen what will come of Burge’s meetings with Gavin Hunt and his technical team later this month, though the Siya crew will be sure to keep tabs on his situation.
