English midfielder, Ryan Burge, has agreed terms with Wits and will come to South Africa for a medical later this month.
The Siya crew reported yesterday that the 25-year-old was on his way to Mzansi to check out life with the Clever Boys ahead of a possible move next season, however after tracking down the midfield man, it seems that his transfer is closer than originally thought.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, the West Bromwich Albion youth graduate said, “Of course I’m really excited at the possibility of joining a team like Wits. We have agreed terms so it’s just a case of me coming out, having a medical and seeing if I would be happy there and willing to leave the UK."
“I’ve been to South Africa once before when I was younger, so I know a little bit about the country and I know that the PSL is a strong league.”
Burge, who was tracked by both Manchester United and Manchester City during his younger days, was most recently playing in England’s League Two with Newport County, however now looks to be on the verge of making a switch to South Africa.
