Fernandez Set To Leave Pirates, Micho Targets New ‘Keeper Coach
Rowen Fernandez Looks Set To Leave Orlando Pirates
Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez, looks set to leave Orlando Pirates as Milutin Sredojevic looks to bring in his replacement.
The 39-year-old former shot-stopper was brought in by the Buccaneers back in 2015 while Eric Tinkler was the head coach, and stayed there under Muhsin Ertugral, Augusto Palacios and Kjell Jonevret.
With Jonevret resigning recently and ‘Micho’ taking over, Fernandez’s spot was drawn into question, and the Siya crew has now been informed that does look set to move on.
Meanwhile, the crew has also been informed that the new Serbian head coach has earmarked a fellow countryman, Ivica Vukusic, to replace Fernandez, although at this point it remains to be seen whether anything has been finalised.
Pirates have already appointed Rulani Mokwena as Sredojevic’s assistant, snapping up the talented coach from rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.
