AmaZulu coach Craig Rosslee has been praised for his impressive work with the team since joining the side last year.
Rosslee was roped in by the Usuthu management to change the team’s fortunes, who had been languishing in the wrong end of the log due to poor results under former coach, Roger Palmgren, at the time.
“Coaches have different tactics. Maybe the guys understand Craig well. I think he came at the time when we needed the results the most, when we realised that we were not safe at all.
"When he came in, he didn’t make things easy for any of the players. Things were very difficult for each and every one of us. We all wanted to keep our jobs. We had to fight hard, but I can’t compare him to Palmgren,” a source at AmaZulu revealed.
The former Ajax Cape Town coach made a number of changes to the squad at the end of last season. A number of players were released with many others joining the side.
AmaZulu are currently fourth on the PSL log, tied on 11 points with SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows, all above them.
Defending PSL champions Kaizer Chiefs are also on the same number of points, although the Amakhosi are currently placed fifith on the log after six games.
