Rosina Sedibane Sports School will be representing South Africa at the 2013 Manchester United Premier Cup Finals in the United Kingdom, after clinching the South African round of the MUPC leg.
The local leg for one of the world’s most prestigious U15 tournaments took place on the weekend at the Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto, where Rosina Sedibane defeated SuperSport United 1-0 in the final.
Rosina Sedibane, who represented South Africa last month in the International Schools tournament in France, will be heading to Manchester in August where they will compete in the 20th edition of the MUPC.
Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender, Siboniso Gaxa, attended the weekend’s local leg in Soweto and admitted that attending the finals in England is a great opportunity for any youngster.
He said, “It is an amazing opportunity for these youngsters to play against the best in their category and ultimately the winning team gets to see what professional football is all about, including meeting teams from around the world.”
Head coach of Rosina, tournament champions, Reginald Paterson said, “I’m so proud of the team, all of the hard work has come together and we are really excited for this incredible opportunity to go and play in Manchester.”
