National First Division outfit Roses United have splashed out in the transfer market by signing 20 new players, including former Black Leopards wayward striker Michael Nkambule, his teammate, Moses Kwena, SuperSport United defender Ronald Mohlaka and Platinum Stars midfielder Roger Majafa.
The club, which is coached by ex-Mamelodi Sundowns legend Harry ‘Jazzy Queen’ Legodi, has taken full advantage of his Africa Sport Youth Development Academy by grabbing the signatures of numerous fresh faces already familiar to him.
Men such as Paballo Mngomezulu, William Moyses, Tebogo Ntuli, Michael Skosana, Justice Nozozo, Khulekani Ndlela and Gololo Bamase fall into this category, while Roses has also signed Helder Pelembe, a Mozambican striker with Portuguese experience.
Other new comers include Mpumalanga Black Aces and Amajita goal-grabber Menzi Masuku, Thabo ‘Figo’ Moloi who was once on the books of Orlando Piates and SuperSport United Youth Academy, Mthokozisi Hodi who made his name at the 2008 Gauteng's Coca-Cola Football Stars U18 championships, Ayanda Mtshali, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Lwazi Skosana, Sanele Ngubane and Khumalo Khulekani.
Roses United’s Communications Manager, Tshidiso ‘Fresh’ Mokgele, confirmed the new acquisitions to Soccer-Laduma.
“It’s a fresh start for Roses,” he said. “We’re all hoping Nkambule will stay focused, he’s such a good player. Our coach is disciplined and the fact that all our boys stay at the club house, helps matters.”
Amongst the eighteen players released by the Free State club are Lerato Lamola, Bongani Masilela, Moeketsi Sekola, Tumelo Nhlapho, Thabo Setsumi and Thusho Mohohoma.
