Roses Officially Sold To Sinky Mnisi

After weeks of speculation and rumours, it’s now official that the former Tembisa Classic owner, Sinky Mnisi, is back in the professional game, after purchasing the National First Division franchise, Roses United, from Samuel ‘Max’ Tshabalala.

Mnisi just missed out on promotion to the second tier at the recent Safa Second Division Play-offs, but on the weekend his Vardos team made their NFD debut against United FC, which confirmed the story in last week’s edition of Soccer-Laduma.

“It looked like Mnisi was Technical Director,” a source revealed. “His team colours belonged to Vardos FC, everything was Vardos although there was no badge and the team sheet said Roses.

“What touched me most was that I saw Roses CEO Phillip Ramabodu burst into tears while talking to somebody in the corridor, it was sad,” added the source.

With Mnisi using his Gauteng-based squad, questions remain as to what is going to happen to the 28 players and 11 technical team members that Roses registered for the season.

Last October, Tshabalala told Soccer-Laduma “I love the game and want to invest in it’ but his sudden departure looks like it’s going to affect the lives of many people, considering they were one of the league’s top earners.

While it’s believed that coach Harold “Jazzy Queen’ Legodi is seeking legal advice, why the PSL did allow this to happen?
