Ambitious National First Division outfit, Roses United, have appointed former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Harold Legodi as their new coach for the 2013/14 season.
‘Jazzy Queen’, as Legodi is affectionately known in football circles, replaces Benjamin Reed, who was sacked after he managed to steer the club to 12th position in the NFD standings.
Legodi will be assisted by former Bloemfontein Celtic goalkeeper, Simon Gopane, and Moses Didiza.
“Yes, I can confirm that Harold Legodi will be our head coach for next season. He has signed a one-year contract, with an option to renew. His mandate is to take the team to the PSL and we’ll do everything in our power to assist him to achieve that,” said Roses CEO, Philipp Ramabodu.
Meanwhile, Ramabodu confirmed that Roses have released 10 players following their poor campaign in the NFD this season.
“We’ve decided to let go of some of the players that we believe didn’t offer much this past season and we’ll be bringing in new players to bolster the squad ahead of next season,” concluded Ramabodu.
