Orlando Pirates defender Rooi Mahamutsa was delighted to progress to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League after their 0-0 draw with Al Ahly on Sunday.
The point allowed Pirates to progress as runners-up in Group A, after AC Leopards went down away to Zamalek, and Mahamutsa happy with the outcome.
"Firstly I want to thank God for the opportunity that he gave me. And for the supporters and my teammates. We knew it was going to be a difficult game for us. But we managed to get a point and I'm happy that we are going through for the next round," he said.
"We were playing on our home ground, so we they couldn't score against us. If they scored against us it was going to be difficult. But now I am happy that we are going through to the semi-final.
"It's all about getting the result, that's what we were focusing on."
Midfielder Oupa Manyisa was also pleased, but warned that they must keep their heads out of the clouds.
"We knew that things were going to be tough but we told ourselves that we must keep on pushing so that we can maintain our shape," he added.
"It's nice to play on your home ground because the fans will push you. We are one step closer but we must keep our heads."
