SuperSport United and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has spoken about the magnitude of the Tshwane Derby, and their rivals’ dominance over them in the past.
In an interview with the media this week, Williams said the following, “Yeah I mean first starting with the Celtic game, I don’t think we played to the best of our ability. We defended a lot, they had more of the possession. They are the form team at the moment - Celtic, and we give them credit, but I feel we created the better chances you know. Even though they were the better team, I feel we created the better chances.”

Williams also went on to speak about the match against their arch rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, saying: “Coming to the Sundowns match on Sunday, yeah it’s gonna be a big game I mean it’s one of the biggest derbies in Africa. I just spoke to our media guy and he said there are 32 000 tickets sold so far, so that is good for us."
He went on to say, “It’s gonna be a good game. You know it’s always a good game against Sundowns even though they have dominated, but we’ll take our previous performance against them which we drew 1-1. I mean, we conceded in the 80th minute and we felt let down. We held them for much of the game and we created a lot of chances in that game, so we’ll take the positives from that game as well as the Celtic game and move forward.“
