Ajax Cape Town are travelling to Harry Gwala Stadium to face off against Maritzburg United, as they look to claim a spot in the top eight bracket.
Fresh from a 2-0 win against SuperSport United, coach Roger De Sa, says they respect Maritzburg and their job is to fight hard to get in the top eight.
“We’ll try and win every game we play, and Maritzburg is not an exception. We’ve had a nice run now but we have to focus game by game. I believe there’s still enough time to reach for the top eight, and we just have to keep fighting and collect points as much as we can. It all depends on other results as well but we need to play our part.
“We know they lost to Orlando Pirates on Tuesday and they won’t relax, they’ll put up a fight tonight. We don’t expect anything less from Maritzburg, I know Steve Komphela will come out and try and win the game and get their confidence up before they face Pirates again in the Nedbank Cup. Thulani Hlatshwayo didn’t train at all because of his shoulder, I hope he’ll train on Monday. At the moment we have lots of injuries, we only travelled with 18 players. It’s not balanced but it’s the only 18 we have,” said the former Bafana Bafana keeper.
The game gets underway at 18:00, the Urban Warriors are currently placed at position 10 after 27 games with 37 points.
